La Vista Highlands

- The Great La Vista Highlands Adventure: Round Two!
- So, here's the plan. We were all set to head to the mountains the next day, specifically to La Vista Highlands Mountain Resort. It was our second attempt after a year because the first time we went, it rained so hard even the ducks were complaining. This time, we decided to be smart and get to bed early so we could leave by 6 AM. Yeah, right. At 8 AM, we were still lounging around with our coffees, pretending to be morning people.
- The Journey
- Around 8-ish, we finally hit the road towards Bacolod City to catch the bus to San Carlos, with La Vista Highlands as our final destination. Armed with my trusty Panasonic G9 and 12-60 mm lens, we were ready to capture some magic. Google Maps claimed it was a 1.5-hour drive by car, but the bus? It operates on its own mysterious schedule. One thing was sure: the scenery along the way was straight out of a fairy tale, with mountains kissing the clouds and landscapes that make you question if you're actually in a live-action movie.
- Arrival and the Food Frenzy
- We arrived around 11 AM, fashionably late by bus standards. First order of business: explore the surroundings. But then hunger struck, and our exploration took a backseat. We ordered the house specialty, La Vista Bachoi, and let me tell you, our taste buds were doing the cha-cha. Looking at the menu, we realized we wanted to try everything. The food was that good.
- Activities Galore
- What can you do there, you ask? Well, they've got zip lining, horseback riding, trail walks, and a swimming pool. It's like a mini adventure park in the mountains. Zip lining had us feeling like superheroes, and horseback riding was an experience (note to self: invest in a cushion). The pool provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation, and the trails? Let's just say, they were Instagram-worthy.
- Conclusion
- If you're in search of an oasis of peace and relaxation, La Vista Highlands is your spot. With activities for everyone and scenery that could make a poet weep, it’s the perfect getaway. Here are a few photos to give you a taste of the magic that awaits.
